The Diploma in Packaging Technology is internationally recognised as the premier qualification for packaging professionals, acknowledging the high standards of knowledge and skill required in a very large, diverse and important industry..
Course content
The course provides learners with a broad knowledge of the principles, materials, processes and key elements of packaging production and use.
Those achieving the Diploma will be able to solve problems and make decisions associated with the technical and aesthetic performance, costs, safety and legality of packaging materials and packed products.
Emphasis is placed on the importance of business application and hence a large part of this course is delivered via factory visits and practical work in our packaging facilities.
Who is this course for?
Diploma students are typically from a variety of backgrounds and disciplines, and are typically experienced practitioners or managers in technical, sales/marketing, quality, purchasing, engineering or design.
Course Entry Requirements
As a guide for entry onto programmes, candidates will normally be expected to have a minimum attainment of:
1 A Level and 5 GCSEs at grade A – C, including one science subject, plus the key skills of numeracy, communication and information technology;
OR
Alternatively, candidates should be able to clearly demonstrate through experience in the packaging industry, how they are likely to succeed in this programme of study.

I would thoroughly recommend the course to anyone either in a packaging based role or aspiring to gain access to a packaging management role. Most classes involved a lecture and a tour of manufacturing facilities to support the theory being taught with real life examples. This really helped me to understand and remember the topics being discussed.
