Level 3 Apprenticeship/Work-based Diploma in Agriculture
This City & Guilds Level 3 Diploma in Work-based Agriculture course provides training to students who have previously completed a Level 2 qualification in Agriculture. The course can be completed through the Apprenticeships NI Framework giving applicants the flexibility to combine work and education. The course requires employment within agriculture with ‘off-the-job’ training and assessment delivered at Greenmount Campus, Enniskillen Campus, Loughry Campus and Banbridge (subject to demand). The course reinforces production and management skills in a chosen livestock enterprise.

Students study either Beef and sheep production OR Milk production with additional areas of study:
- Animal health
- Business management
- Environment
- Grassland management
- Housing
- Nutrition
Course Progression
This course may provide students with an opportunity to progress on to the Level 4 Diploma in Work-based Agricultural Business Management.
On completion of the course, students will have the necessary skills to work in a variety of businesses connected with farming and practical agriculture.
Course Entry Requirements
Level 2 Diploma in Work-based Agriculture and normally a Grade C in English Language, Mathematics and ICT or equivalent qualifications.
or
Level 2 Apprenticeship or Technical Certificate in Agriculture and normally a Grade C in English Language, Mathematics, ICT or equivalent qualifications.
Students who have not attained GCSE English Language, Mathematics or ICT at Grade C or above will have to complete Essential Skills in Application of Number, Communication, and Information and Communication Technology as part of their Apprenticeship programme of study.
Leaving Certificate Applied and Leaving Certificate Foundation Level are not considered as meeting entry requirements for CAFRE programmes. If you require guidance on entry qualifications please email the Key Contact for this course.
