Level 3 Extended Diploma in Food Technology and Nutrition
This course is designed to develop a knowledge and understanding of the links between food science, technology, nutrition and health. This course prepares students for employment or progression onto higher level courses.

Work placement
Students will complete a twelve week work placement in a food business between year one and year two of the course.
Course Progression
This course provides students with the opportunity to progress on to Foundation or Honours Degree programmes in Food at CAFRE. It has been designed to meet the needs of industry and prepare students for careers at supervisory level. A range of jobs is available including; quality controllers, laboratory technicians and product development technologists.
Course Entry Requirements
Normally four GCSE Grade Cs or above including English Language, Mathematics and Science.
Leaving Certificate Applied and Leaving Certificate Foundation Level are not considered as meeting entry requirements for CAFRE programmes. If you require guidance on entry qualifications please email the Key Contact for this course.
